You may not be aware this is a working practice, where we don’t know that is coming through the doors each day. The two men worked professionally the whole time that they were here. They cleaned up after themselves, they were never rude or crude in front of the staff (all female), and respectful in front of the patients, in fact I would say that we didn’t even know that they were here.

So on behalf of the Doctors, I hope that these two young men get commended for their hard work and commitment to your company. They have made what could have been a messy job run very smooth.

Thank you for all your help, we now have a practice that is a thousand times brighter and safer. They have set such a high standard that I hope the rest of the building work can done with such ease.’

Experience

‘At Performance Electrical, we will always be pleased to discuss your requirements, gladly lending the knowledge from within our ranks to ensure that your aspirations are accurately interpreted and steadfastly carried out.

Types of contracts we have worked on in the last 2 years include projects on occupied buildings, listed buildings, conservation repairs, education buildings and laboratories’.

Proactive Approach

We instill the ethos of co-operation and team spirit into our work force, from top to bottom, from the outset and ensuring a positive and pro-active approach to all matters.

We only use staff of the highest competence to ensure no delays are caused by lack of information, materials labour and plant and create a happy and motivated work place through teamwork and co-operation.

We establish from the outset a definite design and methodology, to eliminate uncertainty. Utilise only quality products installed by competent tradesmen and ensure that sufficient time and resource is made available.

The contract manager allocated the project is responsible for the day to day liason.

We endeavour to build and maintain good working relationships with all parties to the construction team. Resolve any potential areas of disagreement before work begins. Ensure that ‘and conditions’ are agreed and the formalities completed e.g. Contracts executed before commencement. Be flexible and prepared to negotiate a resolution.

With regards to service satisfaction we achieve the objectives by establishing what is required, measure what is delivered. Quantify the differences and then instigate a suitable corrective process and ensure feedback is received. Effective management, allocation of resources and quality leadership are also key to a successful project.

Use of Sub - Contractors

We require all of our subcontractors to complete our pre-qualification questionnaire & check list with insurance form, which incorporates working safely on site, these documents are available upon request. We only use subcontract workers who have taken the CSCS health & safety exam.

Whenever possible, Performance Electrical is keen to utilize sub-contractors which have been tried and tested and therefore progressed onto the approved list of sub-contractors.

Two and/or three sub-contractors are invited to tender/quote for each specialist installation. i.e fire alarms, cat 5 cabling, security systems etc. This procedure ensures cost certainty and the opportunity to evaluate any significant variance.

Once a sub contractor has been selected, we invite them to the table to discuss programme, contract documentation, attendances and commercial queries. All this will be logged on a ‘pre order sub contract questionnaire.’ A copy of which will be appended to the potential order.

Within the order we ensure the contract conditions/terms etc. Are totally back to back with our own contract with the main contractor and any revised programmes, drawings and instructions are automatically forwarded to the sub-contractor via our document handling system.

When the contract has been awarded to a sub-contractor, a pre-contract meeting is set up on site to further familiarise the contractor with the site conditions, access and logistics. These meetings are arranged on a weekly/fortnightly basis (dependant on size / duration / complexity), usually 2 days prior to main contract progress meeting. Within these meetings all topics/queries discussed are minuted and communicated to the main contractor.

Performance electrical also insists all variations are quoted on a monthly basis so as to maintain an accurate cumulative value of the project.

Quality Assurance

P.E.L operates a ‘self evolved’ quality management system (non accredited), which is consistently applied to all contracts to ensure a ‘seamless’ system to allow overlap and interchange of personnel where required.

Unsatisfactory work (we assume snags / defects) is avoided, where possible, by utilising only our highly skilled and qualified staff to ensure that our work is ‘right first time’. We do not employ sub-contract labour and only use specialist sub-contractors where unavoidable.
