Performance Electrical Limited was employed to carry out the full Electrical Refurbishment to the New Reception at the University of Manchester’s Roscoe Building on behalf of Armitage Construction.
The Scheme was extremely difficult due to working in a Live Building with Existing Essential Services which needed to be maintained. Performance Electrical had to take care during the Strip Out to ensure Existing Supplies to Occupied Parts of the Building remained live during the works due to Exams taking place during the first few weeks of the Contract.
Electrical Services provided included LV Distribution, General Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Dali Dimmable Lighting Network, Small Power, Addressable Fire alarms, Aspirating Fire Detection,
Development Design Associates and Bradshaw Gas and Hope designed the Scheme to extend the Existing Mary Kelly Building to create additional Classrooms and extended Library.
All works was carried out whilst the College was fully operational. Careful consideration was taken between Performance Electrical, H.H.Smith & Sons and the College to ensure the Building could be fully operational during the 24 Week Programme.
Electrical services included LV Distribution/Containment/General and Emergency Lighting/Small Power/Fire Alarms/Intruder Alarms/CCTV/Door Access/Voice and Data Cabling/Induction Loops and Emergency Voice Alarms.
The Scheme included both a New Sport England compliant Sports Hall and refurbishment programme of Existing College. The College remained occupied at all times and the programming of the many Phases was critical to the College’s day to day Operation.
The Electrical Services installation consisted of a New Mains Upgrade, Intelligent Lighting Schemes using LED Energy Efficiency Lighting, External Lighting, Cat 6 Cabling System, Addressable Fire Alarm System, CCTV, Door Access and Intruder Alarm Systems, Disabled Emergency Evacuation, Lightning Protection and Photovoltaics.
Refurbishment of Basement to 6th Floor of an existing 18 Storey Math’s Block. The works consisted the creation of Offices and State of the Art Laboratories. A Fire Fighting Lift Shaft was also refurbished to allow access to the Roof mounted Plant.
The electrical Installation comprises LED Lighting, Fire Alarm, Cat 6A Data Cabling and Small Power Installations. Also, part 2 of the Mains Upgrade within the Basement area which followed on from the EM Suite Project.
Shutdowns and Permits to Works were all arranged by PEL and UoM Estates department on behalf of JTCG due to the excellent working relationship adopted on past projects.
The £7.5M Scheme included both a New 2 Storey Extension and refurbishment programme of existing Secondary School predominantly throughout the Summer Shutdown. The school remained occupied at all times and the programming of the many phases was critical to the schools day to day operation.
The Electrical Services installation consisted new Mains Upgrade, Intelligent Lighting Schemes for energy Efficiency, Cat 6 Cabling System, and full Security Package.
We have retained contact with the school and currently undertake all Electrical Works under direct order.
Performance Electrical Ltd was employed by John Turner Construction of Preston to Design & Build New Electrical Services to the Tech Centre and Main Campus Libraries.
The Scheme required careful considerations and co-ordination with the Mechanical Contractor due to Exposed Ceilings. Both M&E Services was coordinated to provide a Modern Industrial look to the Building.
Services provided included Cost Plans, fully coordinated Electrical Design including Calculations, Mains Distribution, General and Emergency Lighting, Small Power, Voice & Data, Fire Alarms, Door Access, Intruder Alarm, CCTV and Mechanical Controls Wiring.
